"Discerning
The Times"
The children of Issachar, which
were men that had understanding of the times,
to know what Israel ought to do; (1St
Chron 12:32A)
Tell me, if the Lord felt It important to bring this to light, that these men
had an understanding of the times and what they ought to do, then where does
that leave us?
Should
we not also seek to know the times and what we ought to be doing?
The reason for so much of the Bible being
prophetic is to help the believer, especially in these end times to not panic or to
become anxious of what we are seeing and experiencing. That is why so much
prophecy is coming forth today, it is to refresh us and reveal to us many things
that have been sealed up for the latter days. In God’s mercy to us, He is
opening to us an outline if you will of coming events so you will not be
surprised, swayed
or disillusioned. Disillusion can cause faith to falter so it is of utmost
importance for us to
know the mind of the Lord.
Many Believers
say I really don't care about all this prophecy stuff, Or, they may believe that
the prophecies are to complicated to understand. Besides, if we are believing in
the Messiah, does it matter,
I will still go to heaven won't I?
The Holy Spirit inspired men to write these words. Would a parent find enjoyment
in seeing his child attempt to use something that was too complicated for him?
The parent will try to educate the child by helping him to comprehend, to learn
the correct useage.
This is exactly what the Holy Spirit will do and how He wants to help us if we
get still and study and simply ask Him for guidance. There will be great loss in
the days ahead but without His guidance and without our education from Him, many will
perish and or suffer needlessly. Without a vision the people perish, vision is the language of
the Holy Spirit.
Obviously, there are differing viewpoints on this topic yet regardless of what
"we think", there really is only one authoritative figure whom we should be
listening, the Holy Sprit. He is the way the Lord communicates, He is the Spirit
of Truth, He is the one who inspired the written word.
"Not by My power or by My might but by My Spirit says the Lord!"
The Idea
being presented here by the Holy Spirit is that we have been commanded to "Know
the Seasons". Just as the "Sons of Issachar and to prepare accordingly
for what lies before us.
Jesus was not criticizing them for discerning the weather OR “what tomorrow would bring.” Why would the God of all creation spend so much of His time using prophets both of old and prophets of today warning us? It is the same subject matter, that if our sin continues and if we do not repent, we will be judged!
It
is estimated that between one forth and one third of the entire Bible (Torah
with the Tanach) along with the New Testament is prophetic.
Many times we pass scriptures up without any thought as to the prophetic
relevance of the verse.
Example
having
abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments
contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from
the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God
in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Eph 2:15-16
NKJV
This one new man from the two that He Yeshua (Jesus) created in Himself was the Jew and the Gentile. These two will comprise the one new man. These two will become the Bride that has been set aside to Tabernacle (live with and be be established in His presence) with Yeshua for all eternity.
