“The Three Glories”
July 4th, 2013
Revised
For many years, I believed when reading Haggai Chapter 2, there was a “Former Glory” and a coming “Latter Glory”. A seemingly simple matter of a former glory for the days of old when Solomon reigned and a coming New Glory for the end-times. However I was mistaken! There have been two previous periods of the Lord’s Glory having been on display in times past.
However there is coming a Third Glory that will by far surpass all other times and periods.
The Lord speaks through Haggai 1:7 -8 saying,
Thus says the LORD of Hosts, Consider your ways!
Go up on the mountain and bring wood and build the House and
I shall take pleasure in it and I will be glorified, says the LORD.
Chapter 1:12, the entire remnant of the people who were then living the in Land, obeyed the voice of the Lord and began repairing His House. The presence of the Lord was so great, so heavy there was a holy awe, a solemn reverence for the Lord among the people.
In Haggai Chapter 2:1, In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai, saying,
2: Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3: Who is left among you that saw this house in her “first glory”?
and how do ye see it now?
is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
After 70 years captivity in Babylon, there were still “some” people alive who had seen the Glory of Solomon’s Temple when they were young prior to being taken captive by Nebudchadnezzer.
The Lord is asking the question to those who had witnessed the first Glory. Of those of you who were alive during the first Glory (the days of Solomon) do you remember how great the Glory of God when it descend upon the Temple?
The Lord was saying, there in verse 3 above, there is mention of the “first Glory”,
but the verse ends with, a comparison of the Second Glory they were now rebuilding.
And now the Lord was offering up to them a comparison of the first and second Glory.
He is asking the people who had been alive during the first Glory, is this Glory not much greater!
This “Second” Glory was far greater than that of the former Glory of Solomon’s days. So the Lord did not just display His Glory as at the first but it was progressive, a heavier out pouring out of Himself, this Second Glory by far superseded, extended beyond the glory of the first.
“The Third and Greatest Glory is about to fall”
Haggai Chapter 2:6-9
In Verse 7 “ below, and I will fill this house with Glory”
You see, this will be the “Third Glory”. This Glory will undoubtedly fulfill the revelation to Israel that Jesus is Yeshua the Messiah. And we are already beginning to see the early stages of this revelation coming to them.
6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come:
and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.
9 The Glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former,
saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.
As a Result of His Glory, there are three distinctive Blessings that follow.
Do not confuse the Three Glories with the Three Blessings, they are different.
During the days of Solomon, there were “three prevalent and obvious blessings” and they were witnessed by all the nations what God had bestowed upon Israel.
The Three Blessings come as an open and visible manifestation of His Glory.
“The Three Blessings of His Glory”
1. The greatest wisdom in all of the world resided in Israel through the person of Solomon.
Diplomats from the world flowed to Israel to see it all they had heard was true.
2. Incredible wealth from every direction came into the house of Israel.
Golden shields in the palaces and silver was as plentiful as rocks on the ground.
3. The Presence of God came into and rested in the Temple.
The manifest Glory of God was apparent and viewed by all.
The First Blessing is knowledge & wisdom
Great wisdom, just as in the days of Solomon, all types of inventions will flow out of Israel in an ever more unprecedented manner than in the past. As the Word states, And all the families of the earth will be blessed by the Jewish people.
The Second Blessing is Wealth
The Lord is saying in verse 8 above, that all the sliver and gold is His and He will cover and provide Israel with every good thing. Chemicals from the Dead Sea, well over 122 trillion feet of natural gas offshore, oil being discovered and exported from the Land. Israel is about to become one of the most wealthy nations on the face of the planet. She will become a superpower of the end days.
The Third Blessing is His Presence!
However, the third blessing is the greatest of all!
When this THIRD GLORY falls upon Israel, All Israel who is truly Israel, will be saved!
This Glory will be the single most desired most elevating place of peace and power for those who hide themselves under the shadow of the Almighty. Those who walk under the covering of Messiah the Lord Jesus will walk in the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our conclusion then is Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
So now we now see there are a total of Three (3) times when the great Glory of God will fall.
Two have passed and one is to come and is even now at the door.
You and I dear Saint will see with our eyes and we will have full knowledge of His Third and greatest Glory!
Blessings to you and your house,
Steve Grable
