“The Cloud”
May 10th, 2012

I had a most unusual type of dream last night; at least I now believe it to have been a dream although I am not completely sure. Every dream I have had over the course of nearly thirty years has left little doubt it was a dream but this was different!

I have a 6’ tall chest of drawers directly on the wall and slightly to the left beyond the foot of my bed. I looked and observed a cloud that was to the right of the chest and just a foot below the ceiling.

Initially thought I was wide awake as I watched this cloud. Even when I closed my eyes I could still see the cloud.

Its size was as if my arms were extended to approximately four feet and the cloud had a light within, it literally glowed in the darkness.

Since I was not sleeping all that well, finally I got out of bed and began to do research on the word cloud. Again believing I had indeed seen the cloud in the physical. Even when I became more mentally aware, I continued to feel in my spirit I had seen the cloud in the natural. We remember that the Apostle Paul stated that at times he was unsure if he was experiencing events in the natural or the spirit.

The word cloud is mentioned 147 times in the Bible. (KJV)

There are four primary uses of the word cloud.
Believe this to be no coincidence having understanding that the number “4” translates to

“trial, inspection and examination.

His Covenant, our Promise

The first time we find the word used as sign, a bow (rainbow) in the sky whenever a cloud is present. This signified the Covenant of God with the earth promising that never again would He destroy the earth with a catastrophic flood. Genesis 9:13-14 &16

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. Genesis 9:13

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud.  Gen 9:14

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. Gen 9:16

His Perfect Direction

The second time when the word is used was as a way of directing the people of God. The cloud went before them and they simply followed. It was understood, that Elohim was doing a “New Thing”; they could not stay where they were. And they were to obey without question.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. Exodus 13: 21-22

His Divine Protection

The third use of the word comes as a sign of Divine protection. The angel of the Lord came in behind Israel and caused darkness to the Egyptians. The Lord Himself had become Israel’s rear guard. God was not only present in the midst of their circumstance but He was actively engaged in protecting his precious ones.

And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. Exodus 14:19-20

Entering into the Cloud of His Glory

The fourth time, we see the awe of God when He lovingly reveals to all of Israel His wonderful, powerful, magnificent being. One who speaks in the cloud as well as in the fire for He is the God of all circumstances!

His covenant to us is His promise of salvation, His perfect will is for our perfect direction amongst the darkness of chaos, His provision is one protection from all that may bring destruction upon us and His Glory is to reveal Himself and to communicate His presence thus bringing the peace that surpasses all our understanding.

And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. Exodus 16:10

And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD. Exodus 19:9

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. Exodus 19:16

And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. Exodus 24:15

And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. Exodus 24:16

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud,
Exodus 24:18

Dear Saints, we too have that same Spirit of the Lord that was within Moses. We have been called out and separated and anointed as His kings and priests of the Kingdom. We have been invited to come into the midst of the cloud of His Glory and the barriers of our natural senses will drop.

We are about to enjoy His Perfect fellowship in a way that will supersede all our ability to fathom. While His ways are above our ways, He is about to reveal to us a much more defined picture of what He is about to do.

The days of not hearing correctly even when we have earnestly sought Him are coming to an end. Those things that have hindered us will be removed by the Spirit. And as we enter that cloud, His Holiness will permeate our minds and hearts and even our very substance will be transformed.

We will know the expressed purposes for our lives.
We will seek Him and He will be found.

Blessings to you and your house,
